Swimming lesson #3
Today I went swimming again. Mummy say I am a big baby girl already, cannot swim naked anymore, so I don my swimsuit today.

Look.. who else is there to cheer me on today!?
It's Ah Gong, Ah Ma and Auntie Blackie!
While I paddle like a little duck in the tub, they were out there cheering me on.

As usual, I enjoyed my swimming time a lot!
Just 2 more lessons to go, & I will graduate from my swimming lesson in the tub.
Mummy say she will bring me to the public baby pool thereafter..
Am looking forward to swimming with all my little uncles & aunties in the pool soon..

Mummy came home looking very tired after a crappy day at work today. But, the pleasant surprise in the mailbox brought a big smile to her face. It was the hair accessories that Mummy ordered from Auntie Sally. Mummy tried the peach daisy hairband on me just now, and my cuteness set her laughing for a while.. Mummy will showcase my Princess Tiara Satin Clip in later post. Mummy loves these lovely handmade hair accessories from Auntie Sally.

Diapers Comparison
Mummy thought that it will be useful to share this post with mummies-to-be who are contemplating whether to start their babies on cloth and/or disposable diaperings.
Cloth Diapers versus Disposable Diapers - Pros and Cons
Cloth Diapers versus Disposable Diapers - Pros and Cons
Mummy started me on both types. Currently, I am alternating between cloth and disposable diaperings. When I was a newborn, Mummy did some research on the web to source for reliable one-size cloth diapers. Finally, she settled on Wahmies & BumGenius. It was really a good buy as both brands fit me snugly. Most importantly, Mummy was told that these diapers will fit me till I am potty-trained. Despite the fact that the initial cost of buying these cloth diapers were not cheap, Mummy felt that it was a good deal since it can last me for a few years. In addition, unlike what old times diapers looks like, these dipaers are actually very hip & trendy. Hence, my verdict is, cloth diapering ROCKs !
While cloth diapering is the preferred choice, disposable diapering offers Mummy the ease of use.
Where disposable diaper is concerned, Mummy chose not to compromise on the price & quality since I am going to wear them for long hours each time. There are simply too many brands in the market, hence, after reading up pages of reviews online, Mummy settled on NEPIA & Mamy Poko. The verdict is, both brands are comparable. In terms of leak-protection, pee absorption and the cottony soft & breathable material, all we could say was "Thumbs Up!"
Personally, I prefer Mamy Poko! Simply because of the lovely Pooh Bear!

Organic Brown Rice Cereal
Mummy bought me Organic Cereal.
Why use Organic Brown Rice from HealthyTimes?!
Why use Organic Brown Rice from HealthyTimes?!
(1) No Soy & Dairy in the Baby Cereals
(2) Fully Supplemented
(3) No Alpha-Amylase
(4) Organic Whole Grains, Vitamins, and Minerals
The verdict is, I still prefers milk milk to cereal. Cham lah, Mummy running out of milk supply soon due to irregular pumping sessions, how can she satisfy my craving for milk milk in the long run?!

Tummy Time!

It wasn't easy for Mummy to capture these shots since I hate to be placed on my tummy. Finally at 4.5 months old, I managed to be on my tummy & lift my head up to pose for the camera!

My Bath Time Companion
Let me introduce my bath time buddy, the rubber duck! Rubber duck has been bathing with me since I was 3 months old. Rubber duck has made my bathing time more enjoyable as it squeaks & amuse me as we bath together. Just this morning, while Mummy was preparing to dry me, she caught me holding the rubber duck & putting it in my mouth. The rubber duck is 'finger lickin' good!

My 2nd Jab (DTPa+IPV+Hib)
Daddy didn't go work today because he wants to accompany me for my 2nd dose of DTPa+IPV+Hib. Daddy is so proud of me because I didn't make a single noise when the nurse inject the dose into my thigh! I simply stare at Daddy & gave the nurse a nonchalant look when she injected me, I didn't fuss despite the fact that there were bleeding after the injection this time round.
Daddy praised me for being a brave girl! Mummy so jealous that I react so cool infront of Daddy cause I will usually scream at the top of my lung during injection. Hee hee, I am Daddy's precious little girl, so I act differently infront of him.
I am weighing 7.1 kg @ 18 weeks old today. As usual, the next few hours is very crucial as I may develop fever after the jab. Mummy got to observe me hourly for any rise in my body temperature. Wish me good luck!

Do you believe that BABY can read?
Experts say the most natural time to learn any aspect of language is during the infant and toddler years. There is a “natural window of opportunity” for learning language where it is easier for children to learn to understand and speak at a high level. During this window of opportunity, between the ages of 3 months and 5 years, they can also learn the written word naturally and easily.
Believe it or not, Mummy decided to start me on flash cards lesson.
Today is lesson #1. Not that difficult after all, the colourful words & pictures on the flash cards did captured my attention for a while. Mummy know it's time to end the lesson when I begun feasting my fingers to show her that I am bored already.

I am a 100% Breast-Fed Baby
I am very sad that many babies are affected by the recent milk scare. Manufacturers who adulterated the milk are truly unpardonable! Where is their conscience? Don’t they have a baby of their own too?
Mummy is glad that she was persistent in breastfeeding me 100% since the day I was born. The breastfeeding journey was not an easy one for Mummy; she nearly gave up in the first week due to the engorgement & pain! She could still recall how she woke up in pain in the middle of the night & need the nurses’ help to clear her engorged breast.
My brave Mummy did not succumb to the pain. She read about the benefit of breast milk and is keen to breast-feed me for as long as possible. Discipline is important, as Mummy needs to adhere to a tight milk-pumping schedule to ensure that there is always enough milk supply to meet my demand. Can you imagine my lazy Mummy waking up early in the morning at 6 am to pump milk, and subsequently every 3 hours pump till the last pump at 11 pm in the night! To her, it was almost mission impossible to do that cause Mummy is a heavy sleeper, she can sleep like 13 hours a day before I was born. For my sake, Mummy did the impossible. This is the power of LOVE.

Why Breast is Best
FOR BABY
Due to the anti-infective properties of breastmilk, breastfed babies tend to have less incidence of or less pronounced symptoms of ear infections, respiratory illness, allergies, diarrhea, and vomiting.
Due to the digestibility of breastmilk, breastfed babies are rarely constipated.
The stools of breastfed babies are mild-smelling.
SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is less common in breastfed babies.
Breastmilk is constantly changing in its composition to meet the changing needs of the baby. Nutritional composition of breastmilk changes as the baby's nutritional needs change - even within a single feeding.
Breastfed babies are constantly exposed to a variety of tastes through their mother's milk.
Breastfed children are at less risk for chrohn's disease and juvenile diabetes.
Children who were breastfed are less likely to need orthodontic work such as braces due to the unique sucking action required with breastfeeding.
IQ levels are an average of 8 points higher in children who were breastfed.
Adults who were breastfed have a lower risk for high cholesterol and asthma.
The bond between mother and child seems to be enhanced with breastfeeding.
So despite the recent milk scare, Mummy can ensure that I am a healthy baby since I am 100% breast-fed. We pray hard that all babies affected recovers soon.

My First Time to a Wedding Dinner
Yesterday was auntie Ferlis's wedding. Don't ask me how the bride & groom looks like, cause I was sleeping throughout the whole event again! Mummy forgot to bring my hat and it was freaking cold in the restaurant. Daddy had to rush to the supermarket to buy a towel to wrap me up. To make up for Mummy's carelessness, she carried me all the way last night while I sleep soundly in her arms.

Gathering at Auntie Dolly House
Hehe.. Here comes the update on the gathering. Poor Mummy not feeling well yesterday and was at home resting, then in the night still need to attend Auntie Ferlis wedding, hence the update came so late.
Last Sunday, Auntie Dolly invited us to her house @ Punggol for a gathering. About 20 babies attended the gathering. I was overwhelmed by the crowd but enjoyed myself a lot. There were many handsome boys there, & I was drooling big time!
